This Privacy Policy describes how Quick Schumann Check (the “App”; Apple
bundle id com.schumann-resonances.schumann-resonances, Android package
com.minutescenes.schumannresonances) and the website
schumann-resonance.org (“we”, “us”) collect,
use, and protect information.
Related products on this domain (for example Frequencies Player or Mandela Effect Library) may have their own privacy pages. Where those pages exist, they govern that product.
Summary
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Many preferences stay on your device until you clear app storage or uninstall.
- Optional features (push notifications, forum, journal, supporter subscription, website contact) involve sending limited data to our servers or to Apple / Google / RevenueCat.
- Chart imagery originates from public measuring-station sources (notably Tomsk and Cumiana); we mirror and annotate it for the App.
Information stored on your device
Examples of data kept locally may include:
- UI preferences (theme, which screens are shown, Learn / tour state)
- Notification preferences you configure in the App
- Cached chart images and similar offline-friendly caches
- Local identifiers used to restore purchases or link optional features across sessions
Deleting the App or clearing its storage removes local data we cannot recover.
Push notifications
If you enable notifications, the App registers a push token (for example an Expo / platform push token) with our notification service so we can deliver alerts you opted into (such as Tomsk spike / amplitude style alerts). You can disable notifications in system settings or in the App. Tokens are used only to deliver those alerts and to operate the notification system.
Forum, journal, and community features
Depending on what you use:
- Forum: display name, posts/comments, optional profile image you upload, and device-linked identifiers needed to authenticate and moderate abuse
- Journal: notes and related metadata you choose to save, associated with your device / journal account so they can sync
- Symptoms / feelings community tools: content you voluntarily submit to share with others, plus technical context needed to show and moderate that content
Do not post sensitive personal or medical information you are not comfortable sharing. Community content may be visible to other users according to the feature design.
Purchases and subscriptions
App purchase and optional supporter subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store and/or Google Play under their privacy policies. We do not receive your full payment card details.
Subscription / entitlement status may be validated through Apple, Google, and RevenueCat so we can unlock Member Bonus features. We typically receive what is needed to confirm entitlement (for example an anonymous app user id and active entitlements), not your full store billing profile.
Website contact form
If you use the website Contact page, we receive the name, email, and message you submit so we can reply. We also process basic technical signals used to reduce spam (for example rate limiting and a honeypot field). Messages are emailed to our support address and retained as long as needed to handle your request and keep reasonable support records.
Affiliate and partner pages
Some partner landing pages on this site record visit statistics (for example via a small tracking beacon). Those stats may include coarse technical data such as IP-derived information used to count visits and prevent abuse. They are not used to sell ads.
Server logs and security
Our web servers and APIs may log standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamps, endpoints) for security, debugging, rate limiting, and reliability. We use this to keep the App and site working and to block abuse — not for advertising profiles.
Analytics and advertising
We do not use third-party advertising networks in the App to show ads. Apple and Google may collect diagnostic or crash data according to your device settings and their store policies. Over-the-air update systems (for example Expo / EAS Update, when enabled for your build) may process update metadata when the App checks for updates.
Third-party content
The App and site may link to or embed third-party content (station websites, YouTube, social links, NOAA / other resources). Those services have their own privacy practices when you visit or play their content.
Children’s privacy
The App and site are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will delete it where appropriate.
Your choices
- Turn off notifications in the App or system settings.
- Delete the App to remove local data.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in Apple / Google subscription settings.
- Contact us to ask about support messages, forum content, or other data you have sent.
Data retention
We keep operational data (support mail, forum content, journal records, notification tokens, logs) only as long as needed to provide the service, handle abuse, meet legal obligations, or maintain reasonable backups. When you ask us to delete account-linked data where we can identify it, we will do so except where we must retain information for security, legal, or integrity reasons.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. Continued use of the App or site after changes means you accept the revised policy.
